Forum on Women and Global Migration: Root causes and Innovative Solutions

This forum was organised on the 23th February 2018 at the Palais des Nations Room XI by ZONTA international in cooperation with other parteners ECOSOC Statute. BANGWE and DIALOGUE was one of among them.
The following diplomatic figures attended to the official opening of the forum and took the floor for some welcome remarks:
- M. Michael Moller, Director General of the UN Office at Geneva
- H.E Mr Olaph J. Terrible, Ambassador of Malta
- H.E Mr Hassane Boukili, Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN of Morrocco
H.E.Mr Maurizio Enrico Serra, Ambassador of Italy
The agenda was debated in two sessions
The topic of the first session was: Factors affecting migration flows
Three presentations were made by
- Sonja Hönig Schough, international president Zonta international and Zonta international Foundation
- Colette Samoya, former Ambassador R.P Burundi and Founder and president of BANGWE and DIALOGUE/NGO
- Micheline Makou Djouma, preident of Ocaproce International
The second session was related to the topic on Innovative solutions in Migration Policy and Practice
The following experts made presentations:
- Ms gloria Moreno-Fontes Chammartin: Specialist in Migration policies, International Labor Organization
- Ms. Madi Sharma, Entrepreneur, european economic and Social Council, European Commission, Brussels
- Dr. Brian Grim, President, Religious Freedom& Business Foundation
- Mr Patrick Taran, President, global migration policy Associates
Exchanges and debats were inter actives and concrets. Many Clonclusions and recommandations were adopted .
